This workshop allowed attendees to get their hands dirty by trying out dry point etching techniques with printmaker Nick Coulbeck in a creative taster session.
After spending decades working in the local commercial printing industry, Nick now uses printmaking as his artistic practice, exhibiting his work across Lincolnshire.
Nick is a regular at People Make Grimsby, generously sharing his wealth of experience in the industry and we’re excited to have him deliver a session to share his printmaking studio skills.
In this workshop creatives were able to:
- develop dry point etching skills
- etching and printing your own design based on the theme
- use the studio space, printing presses and equipment
The class was suitable for :
- Adults interested in developing their existing printmaking practice
Attendees were asked to prepare:
- An image to work with – a line drawing to fit the plate of 140mm x 100mm (no bleed over the edges).

The artist tuition and studio costs are subsidised by What If We Create’s Print Heritage Project at £20, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and attendees were encouraged to donate £10.
